according to Hue-Blog, the Philips Hue range should soon be enriched with a new connected LED strip named Gradient Lightstrip Mood. A model that would have similar capabilities to the ribbon Philips Hue Play Gradient intended to transform any television set into an Ambilight TV.
Unlike the "classic" Philips Hue Lightstrip White & Color Ambiance, this model can indeed illuminate several of its portions in different colors. With a length of two meters, it would be extendable by one meter like the current model and would offer 16 million colors, hence the mention White & Color present on the visuals unveiled by our colleagues.
If we do not yet know the number of zones, nor the number of LEDs and even less the light power of this tape, the protocols used do not leave much doubt and should be the ZigBee and Bluetooth, as is now standard in the Hue range.
Price level, the Philips Hue Gradient Lightstrip Ambience should be marketed around 130 € for the 2 meter tape et 60 € for its 1 meter extension. High prices which are hardly surprising when it comes to the Dutch giant. It remains to be seen whether this system will be Hue Play compatible ...
